Rubber Mulch Critical Fall Height

The depth of the BounceBark bound rubber mulch surface depends on the critical fall height of the playground equipment.

Standards

We always recommend that British and European standards are adhered to. BS EN 1177:2008. This standard defines the critical fall height and surface depth, also the area to be covered from the play equipment.

Critical Fall Height

The diagram to the right gives:

• The playground equipment critical fall height and
• The minimum required rubber mulch safety surface thickness, with the mulch laid onto soft ground.
